Please hear me out, I desperately need help. When reformatting my C drive, my computer froze. When it booted back up again, it continued the restore, however, it erased my D drive instead, with all my digital pictures. I believe these pictures were the first to go on when I installed the D drive. Then, I made a huge mistake; I place about 10 gigs of other files into the D drive. This was all before I found out about data recovery using programs such as GetDataBack, and Ontrack. Is it possible to recover these files that I believe to be at the beginning of the drive, even if I placed files in it after the restore? Or maybe there saved as some other weird format (supposed to be JPEG). Those two programs I used, I believe, only restored recent digital pictures. I really need those pictures back because there irreplaceable. Thanks guys in advance.

just to get it strait, you recovered files that were deleted, then overwritten by other files?

So you used ontrack pro for this? If you did, would you say it's the best program for the job?

Dammit, I still can't see any of the photos using GetDataBack, or even ontrack.

with the ontrack, you have to try the different options by trial & error
