ok what i found works the best for me is IMGBURN. Get that, go to put your disc in, go to open file, select the .dvd file, dont worry it isnt too small...think of it as a link to your iso...then hit burn. wait for it to burn..25 minutes or so, then play. it should work then. make sure your booksetting is set to dvd-rom, or it will not work. remember, the .dvd file isnt too small. it works out in the end

make sure the .iso is named in the .dvd file above or below the layerbreak.. example
gearsofwar.iso
layerbreak= 1913760

oh, also, i've tried swapping the dvd writer into my older pc and get the same,
also tried writing with a liteon writer and again same!
try DVD Decrypter instead.. if that doesn't work you may need to change dummy files.
what game is it?

I have a few questions :
1.Is it possible to play Original Xbox games or Xbox 360 games on a non-modified Xbox 360 that has the normal firmware?
2.If it does work (which I doubt) and asks for an update, will this screw up your Xbox 360 console or bring up an error which screws up the console?
3.Are you only banned from Xbox Live for playing a back-up game or if you are playing with a modded console online even if the game you're playing on the modded console is a genuine copy?

1) huh?? what are you trying to ask? of course you can play retail games on any 360 console (modded firmware or not). However, if you're trying to play a Xbox 1 game that isn't on the backwards compatilble list for the 360 you won't be able to
2) again, not sure what you're trying to ask. if it's an Xbox 1 title and it asks for an update it's most likely the backwards compatible update for the title. Accept it, you'll be fine
3) this has been discussed many times. @ this time MS hasn't banned for hacked firmware. if you're firmware is modified, it's modified, end of story. if you're worried about getting banned don't modify it or don't go on xbl.
I don't Usenet, it uses me.

make sure that the hard drive that has your x360 images on it and your dvd writer are on separate IDE channels. Also, make sure your dvd writer is in DMA mode..see here:

Ok I have succesfully flashed my Toshiba 0078FK, but I doesn't load my back-up :(. I've downloaded this torrent: Need_for_Speed_Carbon_PAL_XBOX360-SPARE[www.moviex.info], the NFO says that is pre-patched. I burn it with cloneCD, using a Pioneer 111D and verbatin dual layer DVDs. When I try to load it in my Xbox360 is says something like this:
This disk is unreadable
1. clean the disk with a soft cloth
2. restart the console
for more help please visit Xbox.com
I would appreciate it if anyone could help me,
Thanks in advance

thanks, will double check tomorrow as i'm at work at the moment but i'm pretty sure all is how you say it should be with those settings.
if that is all correct are there any other factors that could be causing my problem?

i flashed my pioneer dvr-111d with "dangerous brothers firmware" 1.29 (try google for it), and i never had a coaster, and no need to think about booktype etc...its dvd-rom automatically.
next, if your burning PAL games for a PAL machine, and if your using verbatim dvd+rdl(not dvd-rdl), it will works great!
