Guys im using a machine that has an Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator. When im gaming im getting like 10 FPS on very simple maps. Is there anyway I can adjust the onboard graphics accelerator so I can get better fps out of it? I am getting a new card but it will be a long way off and want decent fps now.. Thanks for any help.. Cobe
Intel integrated graphics are just dire I'm afraid, I'm impressed you get 10fps, seriously. Nothing will make it perform any better unless you buy a decent graphics card. The Intel GPUs cost $6 to produce each, so little wonder really. I only ever play SNES or DOS games on the intel integrated laptop really, bar a few oldies or free games, and even then they don't run that smoothly.
Hey there, sorry to hear that you're suffering with Intel graphics. If you want to squeeze the most FPS out of your current system try -reducing resolution -reducing detail level -closing all programs/processes whilst running the game (using Ctrl-Alt-Del task manager) -by the sounds of it you're playing a strategy game of some kind? try reducing the intelligence of the CPU or number of CPU players etc I've not had any experience of using the Intel graphics driver setup in control panel, but i reckon it can't be too dissimilar to the budget ATi and nVidia menus. In which case, try reducing all detail levels to minimum. Of course, you could also search for updated drivers on the internet. Hope this helps...
Generally, with Intel I.G. go to an 800x600 maximum screen resolution and use 16-bit color, not 32-bit. Then as mentioned, drop detail level to the point where characters are more like Super Mario Bros. than Max payne. Then you'll get decent fps.
Ok thanks guys..Game im playing is Americas Army. I already run all details in the lowest possible setting but ill reduce the Res and colour.. Thanks again
Card in a loose sense of the word... The 64MB is just about ok, but it won't have support for Hardware T&L, so technically you haven't reached the minimum specification.
