my cellphone was accidently put in the washing machine while it was turned on. is there anyway to fix it? i havent turned it on yet or tried charging it. if not do i still have a warrenty?
You could try dismantling the phone, ensuring it is totally 100% bone dry, re-assemble and trying, but its a long shot. A friend of mine dropped his down the toilet. It was only in water for 2 secs, but the phone never worked again. Warranties tend to be against faulty products or workmanship (at least in the UK)and not acidents like that
thanks for responding i waited till it was absolutly dry and i tried charging it but only the bottom right corner lights up with the charger in it. if i take the charger out the light turns off. is it something wrong with the battery?
The way that the signal leads are connected to the LCD display could mean that there may still be dampness within that area or elsewhere. If the phone was on when it got wet, then water being conductive even if only slightly may have caused permanent damage. If you haven't tried dismantling the phone to dry it off, it could take a while to totally dry out. Even dampness between the pins of surface mounted components can cause problems. I don't know how easy it is to get into your model of cell phone. The Samsung T100 eg is quite easy. It may be worth trying another battery, but past experience suggests that the battery is prob the one main item to survive a quick dunk in water. Otherwise I can't really suggest anything else other than get a repair shop to look at it.
