i have the Pioneer DVD-120 and when i click on drive properties, it says that i can change the region, but that i can only change it 4 times, after which i can never change it again (regardless of whether i remove the drive and install it in another system)
this seems very odd, but is evidently a feature of the pioneer firmware.
perhaps flashing the firmware might reset it?

anyway, is there a dvd rom that either supports all regions, or has the ability to change the region infinitly many times?

    'preciate it.

ok, so basically pioneer won't officially release a region-free patch? it will be made by
    a 3rd party?

are there any "official" region free dvd roms?

In the western world I believe most are all RPC2 [locked]

I'm not an expert though...j0in the forum above (or browse/search to see mate)

I have 2 drives of which I've made 1 RPC1 which is enough as I have no point in doing my burner.

Better to flash a £35 drive than a £200 burner

Saying that I've flashed my burner twice...

1st time to stop X4 media burning out my laser if I accidently inserted some [Official Pioneer Firmware]
2nd time to initiate drive to burn at X2 [non official]
