I bought a Plextor DVD+R DL drive, which I heard was the best. I bought Verbatim DVD+R DL blank disks, which I heard were the best. I have a folder on my PC of a movie that was already copied from disc using DVD Decrypter. If I use CloneDVD and burn it onto a single layer disc, it works fine. But when I burn the same files onto a DL disc, my DVD player ejects the disc when I insert it. I have tried every software package I can find, including CloneDVD (latest version), and the Nero software that came with the Plextor drive. Does anyone know why I can't make a DL disc that works??

did you set your programs to burn a DVD9 instead of a DVD5? what exact modle is your Plextor, and go here and see if your drive accepts the DL disks:http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php

also check your firmware here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
Keeping your firmware up to date is important for the drive to recognize your disk. find out about your drive using DVDInfo Pro, Nero Info tool, DVDIdentifier.... these will tell you what firmware you already have on your drive and then you can compare it to the firmware page and see if it's up to date!

good luck and welcome to AfterDawn!
