With Shrink, are you ripping it as folders or ISO images?

With DVD Shrink, instead of using the "Open Files" function, use the "Re-Author". For example, if you rip "Movie Only" with DVD Decrypter, the "Open Files" will not work, it will say some files are missing, because of some structure error. Instead, you have to use the " Re-Author"
function to browse your HDD and load the movie in Shrink.

this leads me to believe that you might have the movies in AVI format. In this case you cannot use Recode or Shrink, you have to use something like Nero Vision, or ConverXtoDVD to convert the files from AVI format to DVD format.
