Looking for Avance ALS 4000 sound card driver for Windows XP. Must be Digitally signed by Microsoft. Can somebody please point me in the right direction. Have already attempted many drivers off driverguide.com, but to no avail.

I've done some snooping and I believe you'll find it here-http://www.realtek.com.tw/ Apparently Realtek owns or is affiliated with Advance Logic Systems. Hope this helps!

Nope, nothing at Realtek. The soundcard is/was manufactured by Avance and not Advance. Also known as Xwave 4000 PCI sound card.

    http://www.avance.com/
This points to a link for your drivers.
How good the link is and what you need to do i.e. membership etc..., I haven't got a clue, but they do list an als4000 which may well be your card.

Went to link, downloaded zip file, opened and installed. Removed sound card from device manager, Add new harware and here is the problem. When drivers are being searched for on hard drive during installation the files start to be copied and THEN windows gives me a warning mesage that the divers are not digitally signed, i Click on " continue anyway" . The drivers are then installed, but after installation the sound card drivers message gives me an error message under sounds and audio devices, General tab - "This device cannot start" (Code 10)

I'm at my wits end - feel like chukong the sound card and get a new one, but i like a challenge !

I would just go with another card.
Chances are the quatlity will be worth the change anyway.
