PC hard drive

    Hi I am having trouble getting my pc to boot, I have tried reinstalling windows and tried a boot disk but nothing will work. Could someone tell me what software I need to wipe my hard drive and start again. Jim

    The drive manufacturer will have a diagnostic disk you can download and put on a floppy drive. There, when you start you choose to do a low level format.

    Otherwise, check into the demo version of Drive Scrubber. It also runs from a floppy. You can choose with this software, different levels of formatting, including the 35 pass scrub, but I usually don't do more than the 7 pass. Once done though, you will not be able to recover any previous data.

    well theres this program i use called boot utilities.im sure you could find it on bearshare.it contains everything you need to format your drive.if you cant find it let me know maybe i can transfer it to you.good luck
