I have an avi file (movie) and separetly, a subtitle file in .srt format. I want to know how to burn the subtitle file to a dvd and be able to play it with the movie. Conversion? What do I do?

Here but remember that with this method, you must encode with TMPGEnc:http://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/153058.php

Thank you. Do I have to first do the "preperation" where I name the subtitles the same as the avi file and filter it with ffdshow and only then do the encoding with the TMPGEnc?

Just rename the sub to match that of the avi first and then encode or watch on Windows Media Player. The subtitle should appear in either. I have never used VobSub but I believe it only has to be downloaded for the subs to appear in WMP or TMPGEnc.

I had to go back and check that guide again to be sure, it's been awhile. Rename your files, configure ffdshow and encode.
