oh now dont get me wrong.i can burn at those speed. im just not happy with the quality that i might get. i have done plenty of burns at 16x and have had good results on good media(verbs & TY's) and on my 20x drive i have burnt a few @20x but wasnt impressed with the results.

if your have issues with burning at the higher speeds its most likely your hdd's are keeping up with the speed of the burner. let me ask do you rip stuff to your hdd then burn from the drive that the info is on??? say you rip to drive c and all your programs are on drive c your burning software is on drive c? your hdd is doing to much work to keep the buffer filled to let it burn at them higher speeds...now you have 2 hdds right? put you info(movies, music, avi's ect) on the second hdd. open your burning software and do a burn pulling from the second drive. you will see a big difference in speed and quality of burn... took me some time to realise that myself..lol

the x50s are better but he 9300 will run more cool. the x50 has double the cache and runs alot faster. they are both 45nm.

I'm not sure a mid-tower can hold the 295 since I heard the card is over 1-2 inches bigger than my 8800 ultra and my mid-tower case can "barely" hold the 8800 ultra.

So that is my reason for a full-size tower.

    mike09198,
The actual recording speed depends on whether the DVD is CLV (Constant Linear Velocity) or CAV (Constant Angular Velocity. CLV is really good for fast data transfer, but is not as good at access times, because of the need for the disk to either speed up or slow down to match the location on the DVD, before it can address it.

I notice that you have an AD7220s, among others. I have two of them myself, and I'm curious to see how you like it.

    Best Regards,
    Russ

    Shaffaaf,
Please don't put pics that big on the screen. It knocks the crap out of smaller resolution screens! Use the direct link instead or the thumbnail. I can only imagine how bad it messes up someone's screen that's running 1280x1024 or less. It knocks my 1680x1050 off by half a page! I'd be grateful if you would fix it.

    Thanks,
    Russ

Thanks, I'm sure it's appreciated by all that have lower resolution screens.

    mike,
Cooler Master makes two Mid Tower cases that can handle the 295.
    COOLER MASTER Storm Sniper SGC-6000-KKN1-GP
    COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP

Both are the same depth as the Full Tower Haf!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks almost like the same case but a lot cheaper. The only different I see is no fan vent on the bottom.

Lol by no means am I a Cooler Master fan even through it seems like it. Just $280 for a case seems steep. But I do know that if you don't have a great air flow or water cooling then you have nothing.

I guess my question is how much advantage does this case Conrsair 800D give over Cool Master Cosmos 1000? Price vs performance.

Russ the HAF932 is a full tower.. the HAF 922 is the mid tower.
the sniper, scout and 922 are all mid towers the 932 is full tower..
even still there is plenty of room in any of them to put a small village in...lmao man i cant wiat for my 932..lol

as for the AD7220S i love mine if it wasnt for my liteon 20A4P being such a awsome drive (ide at that) i would get another 7220S

hold on no i wont cause that would mean i would have 8 sata drive(counting the new hdd on the way) and only 6 plugins.....see why i want a mobo with 8 sata plugins.... ;)

    Rob,
You are right. I messed up, I was comparing case depth and copied the wrong case! LOL!! So the Storm Sniper is the only Cooler Master Mid Tower case deep enough to handle the 295! Sry!

you right about that it's built for silence...it seems to that this new case by Corsair got it's idea's from both Lian Li & Cooler Master& Nzxt Tempest and tryed to blend the 3 together

the front of this case reminds me antec 1200 or my 300 with the dual fans top and bottom the inside reminds me of new corsair 800D and others...I saw
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112243
    new corsair 800D
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139001

    antec 1200 below
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112243

remember cooler master had the first raised case with the 690
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137
so air flow could come from the bottom with the single fan input

The side panel clear side looks just like a Nzxt Tempest
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146047

and to tell the truth i can powder coat a case myself in any color
to save alittle money on the cost:)

aye aye, i personally am in love with lian-lis but i wanted to fit the 2500$ budget :D

    i would recommend the Lian-Li PCA70FB or the PCA71FB.

still, the corsair case is one BEAST of a case! i love the tripple rad space in the top.

You guys are really making me think of Corsair 800D and making think of getting that one instead. Let's say it came down to getting a 295 card or the case.

Which one would be the better one to get and which one should be on the back burner? Don't get me wrong, I'm just debating on more power on the CPU or doing like you guys said and even it out so to speak.
