I am totally new to all of this.
My brothers board was goosed so got a new asrock and put all old components into it to get machine working cheap.

he had oem xp so would not work with new mobo
got new xp home edition and installed onto his hard drive reinstalling most of his software.
I put his hard drive in my system to do this so I could work on it at home.
Everything was cool and installed succesfully
put his drive back in his PC now none of his usbs work?!!
I used the usbs in my comp and his drive to attach my plug & play components being external hard drive, camera, mp3 player
Would having installed xp on his hard drive yet in my computer mucked up the usbs? I have the same board and have tried deleting usbs in hardware manager and rededecting them
Sorry about the long winded post, trying to give as much as I can to help get a fix

I am really stumped, the usbs are not recognising anthing, I have inserted a flash drive and a scanner, the flash drive powers up but the comp does nothing, no new hardware detected at all.
Does ayoneave any ideas, I have been at it for days now, getting ready to give thecom intoa shop for annalysis if I cant sort.
