    Hi There,

I have this TDK burner, adn have no problems until I purchased the new TDK media. I am getting Illegal disk when using NERO. Roxio also is getting me an error (don't remember exactly what); Pinnacle is rejecting the media also.

I have upgraded the Firmware, based on other msg on this board. See media identifier and Nero logs below.

    Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Dunut

I'm in a bit of a rush here so I'm just gonna give it a once over, I'm sure someone will come and check it more carefully and point out anything I miss.

Did you mean to leave the disc open? Well you have to finalize a CD to have it play.

I think this is a TDk media code isn't it? I'm a little rusty. Anyways, use taiyo yuden or Verbatim. SOny fuji and maxell made in japan are fine. But only if they're made in japan.

this is Roxio, which conflicts with Nero, choose one or the other. i say go with nero. You will have to get roxiozapper. You can google it and you should be able to get something.

The illegal disc error should go away with better media.

This version of Nero contains some bugs. I would suggest you uninstall it, run this clean tool to remove all traces
http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then install this version
    http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-up.php

Roxio and Nero do NOT go too well together, I would uninstall Roxio from here http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

Your TDK media is not the best, try some Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Sony that are made in japan.

You could always increase burn speed to 4X
