I had a lot of problems trying to back up my South Park Season 2 discs this weekend. Here is what I tried: 1) Straight 9-5 copy using DVD X Copy 2) Rip with DVD Decryptor and then mounting the ISO with Daemon Tools and using DVD X Copy to Burn the copy. 3) Straight 9-5 copy with CloneDVD None of the above worked. Each of them could rip the DVD just fine, but would fail after about 3 seconds of burning. I have heard that the newer South Park Seasons are RCE protected, but I don't think that the above attempts had problem breaking the code. I almost feel like it was because the discs have that stupid InterActual player on the discs which pops up when you put the disc in your computer. However, I really don't know for sure. Any ideas?
I have backed up Seasons 1 thru 6 of south park and had no trouble with backing them up. You said it fails 3 minutes into burrning? Do you mean actully burning the disc it fails or is it giving the error in the actual Transcoding of the DVD? Since the ISO isnt working for you try to rip the disc in FILE mode in decrypter (It wouldnt hurt to download a trial version of AnyDVD and have it running in the background when riping in file mode with DVD Decrypter). This will make the VIDEO_TS AUDIO_TS folder. Then run CloneDVD2 and choose the VIDEO_TS folder as the source. Start Decrypter and choose MODE/FILE You should have no trouble getting a backup of the series. I had no trouble at all.
It seems to rip the DVD just fine, it is in the burning process that it breaks. It is after about 3 seconds I get a strange error and it quits.
Sounds like it could be media, burning software or DVD Burrner hardware issue. Did you have CloneDVD2 make an ISO output file then use Nero or DVD Decrypter to burn without having CloneDVD2 do it? It seems to be transcoding the movie ok but the burn is messing up. So I would assume it has to do with 1 of the above problems not the DVD itself.
