OK I've downloaded the latest version of DVD Fab Decrypter and I get the following error: "Get DVD information Fail. 4096." What does his mean? I'm trying to copy Madagascar. I've tried other DVDs and get the same message. I usually use DVD Decrypter and Shrink but I got an error message from Shrink. Thanks in advance.

    tanz1 ,
Welcome. That disk can be done w/ DVDFAB Decypter so you probably have a bad mastering press or it so badly scratched that it can not be copied. Exchange it for another one.

Thanks for the info but the disk is brand new with no scratches.

bad mastering press > When the disk is made, the machine that stamps the shiny part with the data on the DVD will some times be alinged improperly or be off be a few milimeters so when it presses the data on the disk it sorta screws it up. your players should be able to read bad presses but your comp cant copy them : ( sorry bud

Thanks for the explanation. Then that can't be the reason I'm getting the error message since this error is for several different (perfect condition) DVDs. Any other ideas?

D/L the 21 day free trial of AnyDVD. If that fails then it is either a bad press or you are doing something incorrect

Finally found the error code and this is from another website

    2) Double Layer Copying Errors : Failed when copying DVD.%d
    (%d is the error code)
    4096 // Error_OpenFile

Go here and look for the express pdf error codes:

It just does not tell you how to get around it. If I had to guess if it can not open the file then there is something either wrong w/ the disk or the burner( burner is having problems reading that area)
