Hi all! A friend of mine needs a new desktop computer for £350-400. It will be used only for studying/internet/watching movies -> graphic card is not an issue. The price is important and we found that it is quite difficult to find decent desktops for that price (Glasgow, UK).

Would it be cheaper to buy all the components separately and build it by ourselves? If so, where and what to buy? Also we would need someone to put all the components together for us...

Oh, a monitor, keyboard and a mouse (and maybe speakers) should be included in the price. So, any suggestions on what to get?
    Thanks for all who replied!

    Hi
Take a look on maplins site www.maplin.co.uk and see what offers they have, they have a half decent case keyboard speakers and mouse set up for 35 pounds if you are serious about self buliding that would be a good start, if you dont have a store close to you postage is free for orders over 35 pounds. You could try putting it all togeather yourselves?? its really not all that difficult and there are 1000's of sites giving advice on how to do it, plus it feels good to say you done it yourself.
