Why does it restart every time I start scanning? It just immediateley starts to restart! I downloaded Ad-Aware SE on C-NET, and ever since I updated my definition file it restarted when I scanned. Any solutions?

program might be corrupted. uninstall ad-aware, defrag the drive than re-install ad-aware.

    thanks.

EDIT: Wait, the problem still remains. I tried reinstalling the program like you said, and installing it again (this time using the program from the provided site you mentioned in your post), and it still restarts... Arg, got any more solutions? :(

It still restarts after all of that...

well, at least I got some spyware out. I didn't find any coolwebsearch hiackers on my system.

I never tried the "disk defragmentation" method, and it says on the lavasoft "...it is highly recommended that you run a disk defragmentation on your computer, then a thorough “Check” or “Scan Disk” depending on your Windows version. Try scanning in safe mode.". How do you run a defrag?

make sure Adaware is uninstalled, then run a system restore to before you had the problem and run a registry cleaner. then try installing it again.
