blepp......... DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter are two of the best programs out there. But, they are no longer updated. With the newer copy protections, they need help. There is a free app called DVD43, that works in the background, to break copy protections. I have never used DVD43. I use AnyDVD. It works in background too, but it's not free. It has a 21 day free trial. You can download it at http://www.slysoft.com/en to try it. Free lifetime updates. Even then, I occaisionally run into a movie they can't handle. I use CloneDVD then (same site as AnyDVD and same trial period), with AnyDVD in background. I haven't found a movie yet, that this combo can't handle. If you try and like them, and want to buy them, you'll get a discount by typing Afterdawn in the code box. Good luck!
cincyrob......... Can't swear that they aren't fake TY's. There are some out there. The MID looks like Taiyo's, but Manufacturer: Unknown? Taiyos usually have Taiyo Yuden, where 'Unknown' is. Since they were free, give them a try.......... Good luck!
JVC nailed it on the AnyDVD, best and easiest for the task of bypassing copyright protection. It now includes a ripper with FixVTS that corrects those new releases that cause compliance problems. It works with all software I've ever tried it with. It has the full function trial, so it should at least be given a road test. I've tried DVD43, though free it doesn't compare. DVDFab Decrypter is the best of the freeware rippers at present. You can use the search function at this link and get all the software you need. http://www.dvdr-digest.com/software/index.php Check out the DVD Shrink Central, http://www.digital-digest.com/dvdshrink/index.php . Plus, they have some of the more in depth guides if you check those out. Sounds like it would be a good idea since you're just getting the software.
Some discs will overburn depending on the drive and media in use. My Plex easily burns 8X TY at 12X, but with video I only burn at 6X. If you want to burn 16X, use 16X media. But I suggest those speeds for data and not video. I suspect 8X is okay for some systems. However, burn as fast as you like, if you run into read and write errors, slow it down. The likelihood of errors increase with the write speed. With some noname media you're lucky to burn at low speeds if at all.
so i can use the any dvd and clonedvd insted of shrinker and decrypter? also tied to burn history of violence and it said to big after the shrink any suggestions?
You can use anydvd with any program. If you have shrink then use anydvd with shrink and/or decrypter. How big is the file?
Maybe the movie industry is giving up on the heavier copyright protection. I've not gotten HOV yet, anyone know if it's just the standard old protection? With Shrink, using the Quality Settings and the deep analysis work best for larger movies where compression causes a problem. If it has a problem with a large movie with those settings, I suspect other transcoders may as well. I use a true encoder for the big movies. I have Rebuilder Pro with CCE. Nowadays, even beginners can use Rebuilder because the installer app sets it up for them. Using Rebuilder freeware and the HC encoder allows a person to use a true encoder for free. HC is a bit slower than the retail CCE though. You pay for quality in time with encoders. Here I suggest learning how to use the transcoders before moving on to encoders.
