To anyone still wondering what is the best chip, The top three no swap chips in my oppinion are:
#1. DMS3 2.0 - This chip is the real deal and has all kinds of extra functions. It has DVD region free, firmware upgrades through CD-r that you can DL from the main site, macrovisin off, you can install and boot small apps off the memory card such as the ps2 reality player and even a game shark program!! Also it has a sort of stealth function. some mod protected games will not detect it even when the chip is on. By all means the most expensive chip but well worth the money.
#2 Messiah 2 Pro - Is the closest thing to mod chip perfection when it comes to booting back ups. This chip set the standard for all the modern chips today and its original features are now the ground work for all chips today. It was the first chip to have the ability to turn its self off after a few seconds and the first to have the ability to be disabled by the user. It also was the first to have "Browser support". Meaning you can boot games out of the browser screen and not just upon start up. Emulated by all the messiah 2 is father of modern chips.
#3. Magic 3.1 - Originally put out as the magic 3, the 3.1 is an updated version that fixed some boot code injection issues found in the original 3.0 code. Improvements include a the ability to be turned off by the user(after the messiah 2 pro did it) and gos to sleep after a few seconds after being turned on(also first done by the messiah 2). If the messiah 2 is the father of modern chips then the magic 3.1 is the grand father. It has all the functions you need and is very affordable( never pay more than $30 for one of these unless it comes w/ wires or something). If your all about bang for your buck then the 3.1 is for you.
