hello, I hope this is in the right form. I'm getting a refund on my income tax and it time to buy a new computer.I got between $500-$700 to spend. Im not into building one so i would like everybodys opnion. I just play simple games like MLB or flight simulator. I do a lot of DVD and Cd backups. I dont need a monitor (for now so thats not an issue. also who is dependable to buy from? Thanks in advance
my wife bought a emachines from wal mart for $500. included 17" monitor, keyboard and mouse. athlon xp 64 3000 cpu, 512 ddr 3200, pci express slot 80 gig hd, and intergrated ati raideon express 200 vid card with 128 meg ddr shared memory. im quite impressed with it. it can be upgraded with a better vid card and more memory.
If you're only gonna spend 700 then there isn't really a point in building a whole computer. That eMachines sounds pretty nice. If it's 500 with a printer and moniter then it's probably only 400 alone. Buy that alone then add some ram and get a better video card.
If you are only going to spend $700... It depends. Because if you have a moniter/keyboard/mouse/speakers/dvd drives that you are happy with... I could build a kick ass machine for $700.
but what is kickass for $700. I dont need keyboard, speakers or monitor. My drives are good, and if I did have to replace them the cost is cheep now. other then the e machine what is out there ? and from who. And if I was to build it what would I need? and from who? I have never built one before. Thanks
Also, check the dell outlet. You can get some good deals there for your price range: http://www.dell.com/outlet Let us know what you decide.
I'll recommend the same $700 machine I did last night... So it works because I don't have to research it again. The beauty of copy and paste. The RAM I selected is Value Select, but it is Corsair, so it's not crappy RAM. It's a 1G stick, but you could always get another stick later and run them dual channel. ZipZoomFly has FREE shipping. Everything but the Video Card came from there. The video card costs... 173.45 with shipping, which brings the total to.. $685... And 15 bucks underbudget!
These computers (16 Total) are not the best of the best deals out there, but for built computers, using good components and the Manufacturer testing them perfectly... This site is pretty decent. Basic (Home) Desktops http://www.digitalstormonline.com/homeoffice.asp The Intel/AMD Thunder Value and Lite would work nicely for you. Or even one of there more upgraded ones. You said you still have good drives, well customize one of these machines and drop the price you save from the compoenents you have. But if you are willing to build you own you should DEFINATELY go to newegg.com
