Does the Gamecube have wax on the board?

When I try to solder the chip on the board, am I going to run into the problem of wax being on the board like on the PS2? Im installing the Duo Q, by the way.

 

There isn't any wax on the board... rosin maybe, but not wax.

 

What im saying is if there will be any resistance to the solder?

 

As far as I could tell, the board had nothing preventing new solder connections.

 

there wont be, just use the flux on it. pretty easy install. i just done it like 1hour ago and tried 3 games. All worked.

prince of persia - two thrones is a little laggy when loading the scenes and cinematics though.

 

Maybe you have the PAL version? (Or NTSC if you live in Europe)
Or you could have burnt the game at the wrong speed?

mine is a USA set so im guessing its NTSC/UC (for sure lol). prince of persia is uc too, so are the rest of my games (like 4 !) so far only POP has some lag issues. just a wee bit though. hope you get urs done its elementary compared to ps2!

 

Everything is elementary compared to PS2's nightmarish 20+ wire installs.
