Could you post a burn log from Nero? It should reside at Nero 6 C:/ProgramFiles/Ahead/Nero/NeroHistory.log

    joey36,
Delete your serial number as if someone else uses it Nero can make it inactive. You would be surprised how many people come to the forums just to post the serial numbers on the crack sites. There is a little pencil book on the upper right of the log post . Click on that and you can edit the serial #. It starts w/ 1A23.............

You need to update to version 6.6.0.18 and the site is below. Do not update any higher than that as the next update was buggy.

    The error you got :
    7:04:01 PM #21 SCSI -1176 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1151
SCSI Exec, HA 0, TA 1, LUN 0
    Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)
    HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
    TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
    Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)

The burner and the computer were having a conflict that I hope the update will cure

Is the computer a Dell. If so you will need to go there and see if there is a firmware update for that burner

    Nero 6.6.0.18
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Re-enter your serial# and you're good to go.

The icon in the top right hand corner of your posted log that looks like a pencil and paper....highlight it and press the space bar to delete it or insert x's.

The version of Nero you are using is older than the hills, update to 6.6.0.18 here: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Reduce your burn speed to 4X, until you get a successful burn and then you can try a higher speed later.

Just curious though, the drive is in a laptop right? I could find no firmware updates for the drive and everything I came across says that there will be no updates or support the drive because it is OEM. This might be your problem, because your log tells me that you are using Taiyo Yuden media, which is top notch. Would you consider making an ISO with DVD Shrink and burn with Imgburn to see if we can get a successful burn? Imgburn is free and can be found here: http://www.imgburn.com

My 2ยข is that Matshita drives are the worst you can get, and the UJ-840D is probably the worst of the worst. Did this come with the system? Get rid of it and get an older model NEC for $15 or something. Better yet get a new model NEC for $50 and it will burn every disc you put in.
As far as this media goes, these YUDEN000T02 discs could be fake junk. Some cheapo ripoff brands show the same code, are not TY, but are completely useless.

Jigen probably has it right on the drive and Car.Mike is right about the software. If ImgBurn works, there's no reason why a good version of Nero (properly installed) won't work, There's been a large number of people on the web complaining about the Matshita drives. The drives have definitely developed a bad name. When/if you install the 6.6.0.18 remember to leave out the InCD. It might be a good idea to use the Nero Clean Tools to clean up before doing the new installation.
