RW media works good on my cube. I mainly use Verbatim DVD+R 16x burned at 16x. I get the best results that way.
If you have a Qoob chip set the media type to B and it will play most DVD-R they have to be G04 ones becuase these work the best.
You have to mod your console some way or another. Take a look at some of the threads in this forum for different options if you are interested.
I do the same as Zombie up there... Verbatim DVD-R 16x, and i take the top off of my gamecube, and tape the lid sensor down, and so far all of my games have loaded (except 1, bad rip)... also, try the program CopyToDVD... i had problems with games loading until i got the new media and the new program...
Only if you damage something during installation. Using poor media and incorrectly adjusting the pot will do it was well.
Depends completely on how much you're willing to spend and what you plan to use it for. If all you plan on doing is playing back-ups, the XenoGC and qoob SX are excellent choices. If you want to make them though, the ViperGC Extreme is probably the best option. The qoob Pro is also an excellent chip, but if you want to make back-ups with it you'll need a BBA. I myself have a qoob Pro, and recommend it as long as you don't plan on making back-ups. However, if you already have a BBA, then by all means get the qoob Pro.
i personally use a [bold]Xeno GC[/bold] cause all i want to do is play back-ups and emulators. if thats all you want to do then get a [bold]Xeno GC[/bold] [bold]Xeno GC[/bold] lets you make back-ups but in order to do that you need to have a BBA and GCOM 2.4. I have made 10 back-ups and they play flawlessly.
may be u can use freeloader for it. it aloud u to play another region GC game but may be it still works with back ups.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006FRD9/026-3156910-6090800 ^ u can get it from here but i never thought i can burn GC games to dvds
