Using a Memorex dvd+/- dl burner and nero to burn dvd-video files. Problem occurs when the burner process quits randomly sometimes at 12% and sometimes at 62% but continues to think it is working. I get no error prompt or anything always have to abort then i have coasters. Out of the last 100 pack of DVD+R disc 17 of them have been ruined. Not the media happens on all kinds and not the burner because I had replaced it and problem still happens. Have adaptec updates current.
julee1985, What kind of dvd media are you using? Memorex? TDK? or some unknown dvd media? If you are using the above dvd media discard them. Try somethings like verbratim, taiyo yuden or maxell that are made in Japan. When you got coasters it is always the dvd media you are using that cause you the problems. Always ensure that you are having the latest firmware for your dvd burner. Check up your dvd burner firmware from here http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php
Media can be a cause but not "always"...Outdated firmware, burn speed, multitasking, etc., can also cause "problems"...
