starting last week the big fan of my power supply stopped working it causes my computer to overheat and shut off by itself actually it's still working but turn VERY slowly (sometimes it will stop) -the fan started to get really hard to move, the original power of the thing won't turn the fan on -I have to rotate the fan myself several time to make it easier to move everytime before turning on the pc also, even if I "turned" the fan on, it rotates much slower than before (and sometimes just stop working) -it sometimes gives out some strange sound for like 0.5 seconds and at the same time the fan stop working for 0.5 seconds after that, everything go back to normal, 2 seconds later, another sound come up and fan stop for 0.5 seconds so whenever the strange noise come up the fan will stop working for that very short period of time
Easy enough. Unbolt the psu from your comp. Make sure it is unplugged and maybe let it sit for hr to discharge the capacitors. Or take a insulated screwdriver and cross some of the capacitors terminals inside the psu to discharge them. The open the case and replacve than fan. Not hard at all. Just make sure to use a dvom to make the capacitors are discharged before playing round inside there. It aint a good feeling getting shocked by one of them
i really don't know what the problem is if i want to replace one, where can i found those power supply? mine is a Compaq SPS Power Supply 235W and usually how much do they cost?
Ebay 5 dollars or any flea market. But a brand new antec 350 watt is like 30 on ebay and should work with yours...
so using different watt still works? wouldn't it burn my computer if i get the wrong one i once destroyed my ps2 adapter by using 110W instead of 105W different in 5W already enough to burn the thing
