I download a few seasons of friends off Azureus/torrent thingie...... The episode files are around 120mb per episode. And i have nero, Dvd decrypter, Divx to dvd, and none of them will help me! I try to throw it in Nero VIsion, and it says, Unable to insert/ and dvd to divx says Cant determine the format of input file, Exception during Conversion, Output may not be avaiable. But the all the files work on my windows media player. WHAT DO I DO! I told my dad i would burn them on a disc for his birthday! and times running out :*(
Whats the extension on the files? If it dosent show when you look then go to the folder that the files are at then at the top click on TOOLS/FOLDER OPTIONS/VIEW TAB and in the list look for the part that says (hide extensions for known file types) and make sure you uncheck the box. This will then show you the 3 letter extension of the file. If it is a windows media player file then it could be possible that there is a copy protection on it.
Do you have an Xvid codec installed? If not go to the link below and download the codec and install it. then try putting them through nero or whatever other program your wanting to use. http://www.xvid.org/
i have it downloaded and installed but still the same problem? do i have to do anything else with the codec , or just double click it and install it
if the movies are avi all you have to do is , they are probley rar files right? just unrar the file to a folder that will give your movie thain use vso dvixtodvd depending on how big the avi is if it is like 698 meg it might be like 1.8 gb give or take after you convert it and dvixtodvd will also burn the movie also by the way did you read the coments on the torrent of the file you were downloading sometimes it will say if there is something wrong with the file, and thain i guess that is what you get for downloading something like that, but i can solve your problem ok? just go out and buy the dvd thain you will know that you are geting the real thing ok!
nope not rar files, they were downloaded into a folder on my desk top, i open the folder i double click them and the play on my windows media player, all my other video files i can get to go on a disc, but not these
lets try the basics first. Can you download avicodec from there site, just google for it.Load your file into it after you have installed it on your pc and then copy and paste the file properties in your next post so that we can all have a look at them

hello, i think you need an app that can handle theses type of audio files (OGG),aka ogg vorbis!! have you tried vso's convertXtodvd cheers!
@ andmerr erm,i kinda new that, but thanks anyways dvixtodvd is the old free version, and probably doesnt support as many file types as the latest release of convertxtodvd,(OGG) @miked79 try installing this mega codec pack,it has some usefull tools attached to it also reboot after install though http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm
you might try the upgrade to 1.99 though as the 0.59 version does lack a bit these days when converting if it cant find a suitable decoder for your file
hello, they must have been corrupt files you got did you try and run them through DVIX fix, which came with the codec pack?
