hi im having major problems with my dvd rom and dvd-writer
couple of weeks ago i upgraded my pc with new cpu(celeron d 2.53,asus p5rd1-v mboard and g-force pci-x 7300 gs.
ever since iv done this my drives are working really slow and also when discs are running in the drives, it causes the system to slow down and if playing music causes it to skip and slow down.
also happens when burning a dvd or cd takes way longer than normal.
iv tried prob everything pos to solve this to no success
dma mode is set to pio mode and will not change to dma,but it is set to dma if available,iv also tried removing secondary ide and resrting and this doesnt work also, also tried removing from registry.
cable are ok and have tried different drives and operating system still get same prob, any help would be appreciated as this is starting to drive me nuts.

sounds like a controller issue checked for updated drivers from asus or a bios update ?
    try contacting asus
are you using 80 wire ribbon cables
