    Hi i am starting to wonder, everytime i do a check it says there are 0 infected files. I have a downloaded app with java, and i was sure that would of had at least one virus in it >< . I did a thorough scan and still nothing. Does it automaticly fix them then just post 0 left? I donk know though, mabey it is just i was used to AVG which listed 10things at least everytime you did a search. ><

    No, if you dont know what a online scan is then find out here:

    Trend Micro's Housecall --> http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

    Panda's Active scan
    -->http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

    Bitdefender Online virus scan
    -->http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

    Symantec's security check
    -->http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym

    Macafee's free scan
    -->http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp

    F-secure scanner
    -->http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml

    They are very useful.

    http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html (usefull for finding problems)

    Heres how to use it, btw thanks to axxxel for posting this info.

    -> download -> Unzip to C:\HJT-> Press Ok and Close window

    Make sure that you actually extract HijackThis to its own folder: C:\HJT.
    DO NOT run it from within a zip manager (Winzip), or Desktop as no backups will be saved.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Step 4: Scan your computer

    Now Open Hijackthis -> Click "Do a system scan and save log file"
    Hjt will scan your computer for about 15 sec. -> Log file will pop up.

    Most items are perfectly fine. You should not remove them.
    Never remove everything by yourself.
    This forum will now help you work with the Experts to clean up your system.

    -> Copy and paste the contents of the HijackThis log into your post.
    Make new thread for your own log
    Post full log, begins with: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1... etc

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    Step 5:

    Wait for help.
    Remember:
    Never remove, checkmark and fix by yourself.
    Use Hijackthis at your own risk.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    There :D

    lol, thanks. Ya i did know about online scanners, but i wast sure if limewire had some function to allow you to do that or something. It is always amusing when you have been useing something for a long time then 5 months later you find out that there was a function to save you from tons of he!! :(

    And that HJT is new to me. Do you think if i have suspicions still even after that excrusiating slow check avast did that i should post my log? or do you think i am fine? And when looking at logs, what do you look for in them to find problems? (dont worry i wont attempt with out afterdawn)

    About the limewire, lol yeh =D

    I would'nt worry too much about avasts slow scans, doesnt mean you have a infection..

    But yeh, if your suspicious then post your HJT log on the appropriate forum and let some one else anaylse it, i would take a look at it for you but i won't have time till monday.

    The only worry is you said that you downloaded something you where sure had a virus and avast didnt pick it up right??

    I'd pots a HJT log, instructions on how to are in my last post.
