burning xbox games and playing them

i am new here and dont know much about this stuff so i need some help. i want to know if there is a certain program that i need to use in order to burn xbox games or can i just use "easy cd creator" or "dvd x copy"? and also i am wanting to know if there is a way to play burned xbox games without having to use a mod chip? if not i need to know what mod chip i should use that is good and easy to install and where should i go to get it? -thanks
