Dual core processor question

    so, i have a very newbie question:i want to buy one dual core processor but i dont know whats the difference, dual core (3.0Ghz) and a single core (3.8ghz), shouldnt the dual core be faster? i just dont know what are those 3.0ghz in a dual core... sorry for the most stupid and confusion question in this world and sorry for the bad english too

    Technically, expecially in dual core applications, you would have 2 processors, running at 3ghz each. Total of 6ghz.
    You should check out AMD's dual core's. Much futher ahead.

    hey if your gonna go for a new Dual core processor. then yes what ever the number double and thats your speed. I personally build a new computer often and go with AMDs fx series and X2 series. the Athlen x2 4200+ and up are ussually the best dual core processors to go with there very reliable and fast
