Hello everyone, I am a newbie when it comes to dvd burning. I just got my laptop last night and it came with a CD and DVD burner. I figured out how to burn CD's and now I need to learn how to burn DVD's. The movies I have downloaded are in .AVI format. I bought some blank DVD-R disks at Walmart tonight. Can you tell me what programs I need to download to start burning DVD's? Are there any free DVD burning programs out there? Thanks for the help! Smile

for dvd you can try dvdfabdecrypter(freeware), dvddecrypter(freeware), dvdshrink(freeware), anydvd w/ the other programs, or anydvd(trail version 21 days) with clonedvd(trail version 21 days).

i backed my dvd with anydvd + dvdfab decrypter + dvd shrink

    hello,

if you can afford it,try using convertXtodvd

very easy to use,and it has a burn engine built into it

all you do is load a disk in the drive/drop the avi(s) in,and click convert,
the video ts folder will be burnt straight onto the disk after its been encoded, with great results!

    cheers!!

I am currently converting one of my movies using ConvertXToDVD.. You said this also burns it as well? Do I need to decrypt it somehow or does it do that too? How will I know if it needs decrypting?

    hello

    erm,not sure what you mean?

you have downloaded avi files, and are using convertXtodvd to convert the avi files so they can be burnt onto a dvd disk, which is all you want to do.
btw,set the target size to 4300mb,else the avi file might be over that, thus it wont fit on a dvd disk and you will have to shrink it afterwards, before you can burn it

you dont need to decrypt anything

    cheers!!
