I have just recently bought a DVD Player and some blank DVDs: Pine DVD+/-Writer Dual format, double layer 25 Pack of Maxell DVD+Rs 25 Pack of Fujifilm DVD-Rs I have: Daemon Tools DVD Decrypter DVD Shrink DVDFab Decrypter DVDXPlayer Professional 3.0 Nero 6 Nerovision VSO ConvertXtoDvd My burner will not allow me to burn on the DVD-Rs, so I have been using the DVD+Rs. I have successfully copies three of my older DVD movies though the use of DVD Shrink, but I could not do it on three other newer ones. I have went through the process of using DVDFab Decrypter and then using DVD Shrink on that, and that creates an iso just fine, mounts through my Daemon Tools and plays through DVDXPlayer Professional 3.0 perfectly. When I burn the ISO through Nero, it also burns just fine, though when I try to play on my computer, DVD Player, or my Portable DVD Player, the disc just keeps spinning, keeps trying to load. Eventually my DVD Player says "No Disc". I was using Nerovision to make a DVD, selected the four AVI files, did the menu, said to burn, but got an error half-way through the first time, then at the beginning the second time. I looked this up and tried to burn it to my hard-drive, and that worked great and it also played great. I used DVD Shrink to make that into an ISO, which plays just as well. I burned it with Nero, burned fine. Tried playing it, didn't work, just like the DVD rips. I want to troubleshoot to see where I am going wrong. I am not sure if it is Nero, I doubt it since it burns successfully, maybe it is the Maxell DVD+Rs or my Pine DVD+/-Writer. I would love any help that I could get because I am just lost as to what to do next.
your dvd player is the most likly reason you can not play -r discs some players will only play +r disc
Sorry, my mistake. I said: "My player will not allow me to burn on the DVD-Rs, so I have been using the DVD+Rs." when I meant "My burner will not allow me to burn on the DVD-Rs, so I have been using the DVD+Rs.
@Chirmaya Post your last Nero log - even though it was a successful burn - that may help sort this out for you. You can find it at: program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory.txt. Just be sure to edit out your serial # - begins w/ 1A or 1C. Logs are separated by something like this: =====*** Nero Burning Rom History ***=====
