dell 2400 series pc won't boot from cd drive

    I have a dell dimension 24000 series pc that will not boot from the cd drive. I have gone into setup and changed the boot sequence to cd but it says that the cd drive is not installed.

    any suggestions.

    make a boot disk on a floppy.
