Hi, Firstly I'm not sure if this is the best area on the forums to post this , if there is somewhere more appropriate please say so. I've been trying to connect a Dell latitude cpt laptop (quite old i know) to a tv (such that the laptop display appears on the tv) without much success. On the side it has an s-video out port. I have the cable that connects this to the video in on the tv. However when both are turned on the computer doesn't think that any tv is connected. Do I need to activate a tv out signal on the graphics card and if so how? I'm not sure what the problem is so if anyone has any ideas or knows of a guide explaining how to do this please help.
What kind of onboard graphics card is on your computer? If you don't know, give the actual product name, lattitude XXXX, whatever. Most likely, you need to update your drivers to support dual video output. Right click on the desktop, go to properties, settings. Do you see 2 "monitors" in the little box?? If so click on the 2cd one and click "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor."
