sorry for the dbl post as I was enable to edit original post. Hello Everyone, I'm wondering if installing Aspi drivers 4.71 could be my problem. I recently wanted to try a program that required aspi drivers and now I have falid burns. I've tried looking at the log but nothing jumps out at me, or I just don't see it. I'd really appreciate it someone would be kind enough to have a look and let me know what I missed. Thanks to all that had a look, station2 workgroup Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.71 (0002), size=45056 bytes, created 7/17/2002 11:03:20 AM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 6:35:34 PM Nero Version: 6.6.0.14 Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 14d Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S>Version: KS0A - HA 0 TA 0 - 6.6.0.14 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 0 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: <AXV CD/DVD-ROM >Version: 2.2a - HA 2 TA 0 - 6.6.0.14 Adapter driver: <a347scsi> HA 2 === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : ST3160023A 3.06 ultra Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off DiskPeripheral : SAMSUNG HA250JC WE20 ultra Port 1 ID 2 DMA: Off CdRomPeripheral : AXV CD/DVD-ROM 2.2a a347scsi Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off === CDRom-Device-Map === LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S E: CDRom0 AXV CD/DVD-ROM F: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 74448896 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 511MB (523568kB) Free physical memory: 219MB (224796kB) Memory in use : 57 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 7.4.2006 UDF/ISO compilation 4:07:53 PM #1 Phase 112 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 DVD-Video files reallocation started 4:07:53 PM #2 Phase 114 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no file modified) 4:07:53 PM #3 Text 0 File Isodoc.cpp, Line 6314 Iso document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet :FALSE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : FALSE Allow more than 255 characters in path : FALSE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE 4:07:53 PM #4 Phase 111 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 DVD-Video files sorted 4:07:53 PM #5 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 127 Reader running 4:07:53 PM #6 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 122 Writer LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S running 4:07:54 PM #7 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3297 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 4:07:54 PM #8 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3297 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 4:07:54 PM #9 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3230 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 4:07:54 PM #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 267 Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB) Last address to be written: 2213343 (491:51.18, 4322MB) 4:07:54 PM #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 279 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD DVD) 4:07:54 PM #12 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2433 Recorder: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S, Media type: DVD+R Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG, Media Type ID: F01, Product revision number: 0 Disc Application Code: 0, Extended Information Indicators: 1 4:07:54 PM #13 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 445 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 4:07:54 PM #14 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 830 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 () 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2213344 (2213344) = #2213344/491:51.19 relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/ required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2213344 blocks [LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S] -------------------------------------------------------------- 4:07:54 PM #15 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1043 Prepare recorder [LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; - not too bad, latest 6.x version is 6.6.0.18 (a lot of us don't count 6.6.1.4 as that's crap and buggy) - firmware is one version behind, KS0B is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2056 - DMA needs to be ON, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm - sufficient total memory, just make sure sufficient free memory prior to ALL burning - ugh!, not much good quality at all, use decent discs - see previous comment - Here's a v good start re Power Calibration errors - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/93406 also, quote from "http://www.nero.com/en/FAQs_Error_Messages.html#9 - " - the ATAPI drivers have question marks in the version number. this will be fixed by following the DMA fix further up my reply
Hello, I took your advice and upgraded nero to 6.6.0.18, flash my firmware on my liteon 1693s to the latest set my IDE-0 to dma and tried different media and bingo burned like a champ. Thank you for helping us n00bz,
