Is there a way to convert a 9pin serial port to a usb port? Example: usb at the end and the 9pin serial at the other??
No you can't and you really wouldn't want to. A serial port on a PC will work up to 115KB and USB 2 is 480MB, a big speed difference. You can go the other way, USB to Serial. If you have no USB ports you'll either need a PCI card or a PCMCIA card, or if you only have limited ports, just get a USB hub. Well.... ammmm..... What i really want to do is attach my apc back-ups pro 280 ups w/serial port to my usb port on my computer. I want to create the connection for it, instead of purchasing one.
