Hi people I have a bit of a strange problem thats been frustrating me all weekend!!

I have recently brought a second hand motherboard, I installed it into a case, no problem, i added a HD and CD-ROM and Floppy drive no problem, I started to Install Win Xp and then had a power cut. problem is now I cant boot up anything!!! I get this error 'Floppy Disk(s) failure - 80, cmos defaults loaded, I also cannot boot from the Cd-Rom, the biggest pain is that I cannot even access the Bios settings to try and rectify anthing as the keyboard is not respoinding the lights flash green once then shut off, so i know its talking to the pc, but when i tryt and press any key especially DEL . nothing works!!!! This is my first Pc so my know how is limited.

Any help on this would be really appreciated

    cheers

    J

Sounds like you need to reset your jumpers. What kind of MOBO is it? If you got a manual, look at how to reset your BIOS with jumpers.

Oh and is your keyboard set up via USB???
That's a no no. Too many older motherboards don't have good USB support without proper drivers.

Chances are you had a voltage spike when the power cut happened.
Replace the keyboard and hope you haven't blown somwthing on the board.
