I'm having trouble trying to burn a self-extracting exe file. I've tried to burn it at 2x, 4x, 8x. I've tried extracting it first, then burning it to no avail. I'm using Nero 5.5, and an Artec 48-12-48 CDRW. I'm thinking I should refund the drive.. But any hints on burning an sfx file?

    Thanks

A 'self-extracting file' means nothing. I mean, there might be anything inside that file (a disk image, some pictures, mp3, a movie... anything).

After you execute the file (SFX=self extracting) you should get a new set of files, somewhere on your PC. What do you get after that? Depending on this, we can give clues.
