I came home and tried to play my gamecube. Last week I installed a Duo Q and everything was going fine. I was even playing it yesterday, and havnt touched it sense. But when I came home and turned it on, it didnt load! No disc spin, no GC logo, no nothing! The only thing that happens is that the fan spins. What the hell is up!??!
Could anybody have been messing with it while you were gone? I'd double check the installation, make sure no wires have come loose or anything.
They (my bastard sisters) were in my room while I was gone, but claim to not have tampered with it. I checked with the wires, they are all still attached. Will removing the chip help at all?
Yeah, well, its not coming back now. I just removed the chip and tossed the console. Ill pick up another one.
Yeah, you can always replace the laser parts with your spare system. The mobo and the heatsink, its always cheaper to rip pieces out from failed systems and try it out, than to do what you're doing now, which is to throw away the whole damn thing. Tell you what, I'll buy it off you for 10$ if ur gonna throw it out
I saw that no one really gave you a good response here so I decided to drop one ^^ 1. Defective fan, which didn't support the processor and it overheated 2. Another part could have been defective 3. The "what if" situations could run here, which means who was around it or what 4. Something is caught on the inside, I DON'T suggest you try to stick your fingers in it or manually move the lazer, but take a flashlight and see if you can see anything obvious (if I remember correctly on the right side of the lazer there is a gap where you can see into the system) 5. If you want to take a lazy route, sometimes stuff like that happens and you leave it for a day, maybe a few hours, but whenever is later then you turn it on and it's fine again. I don't suggest that either seeing that it's probably avoiding the issue, but if you don't feel like anything above is necessary then go ahead
