hard to answer without knowing several things. first off brands of tv and soundcard what you're using to connect for sound and how you have your sound card configured.

I personally just hook my pc into my 6.1 tuner/receiver and use the aux for sound using a special cable that I purchased from creative that uses the 5.1 hookups off my audigy and plugs direct into my receiver inputs i also have my dvd and tv plugged in the same way and that way just use the receiver as the main source and just switch inputs onto my projector screen. I recommend the Maranntz home theatre line of surround sound recievers. TV speakers ewwwww
