I have a 2.93 with 3 gigs. of ram and a freshly fomatted hard drive.

At times my cpu runs at 100% and fans screaming for doing nothing special that requires not much ram.

I know it's freshly formated but have you run a spyware check jut in case. With no protection if you had a connection to the internet while you were installing your programs you could have amassed alot. I know that's happened to me before.

It shouldn't contribute that much but have you checked your RAM timings in the BIOS. My PC is slower when running 3-8-8-12 2T than 2-3-3-6 1T. You'll need to check what your RAM should be though.

Also, is your CPU actually set to the corrct clock speed, it could be acciedntally set to a lower multiplier or the RAM set at a lower speed.

I know its frustrating when nothing people suggest is right, but stick with it and someone will come up with the answer.
