I am encountering problems copying Sony movies. Is there any software out there that I should try. Currently using DVD X Copy and also DVD Shrink.
you can use anydvd (it removes copy protection)- run it in the background whilst you use shrink this is not a free program but you get a 21 day free trial from slysoft.com there are other free methods (dvd decrypter, dvd fab decrypter, vob blanker, dvd43) all these are free downloads. & you can find various guides on these forums to help you use them. anydvd is the one i & many other prefer as it is constantly updated & is easy to use (any dvd does not back up movies you will need shrink or similar to use) in my opinion if you buy it it is money well spent. if you want to go the freebie route the other programs i listed are also very good. i hope this helps.
Both of the software programs you are using are a couple of years out of date and will not overcome newer movie's protection schemes. Try DVD Fab Decrypter (free) or AnyDVD (free 21 day trial) $ to buy. Both are updated for newer protections and work well with the outdated DVD Shrink program....
