you guys might have heard this already but Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Phil Harrison confirmed that the ps3 is gona be region free.

Hello,
Concerning the news on the upcoming SONY PS-3 being region free, does that also apply for PS-1 & PS-2 games from any region or just for the PS-3 games?

i am positive that the ps3 will be region free and it should be able to play imported ps1 and ps2 games.

Making it Region free also saves $ since they only have to make a single region PS3 game instead of multiple regions of the same games
