lol, dont think u can get "FREE" net, but there are sites, where u log in and then you pay a premium rate to an 08 number, its jut dial up and will cost you about £2.50 a minute.

And yes how did u post on here if you have no net :0 HAHA

If you know someone has DSL, then you can get a free dial up account. Because every DSL account owner has 5 free dial up accounts.

Well....there are other ways of getting legitimate free internet.

Have a spouse that works for your internet company! Luck of the trade I guess, but yeah....for us as well since we have wireless broadband, if that goes down we too have a dial up account to use. Unfortunately, no system in the house has a modem! :p

Not that I care really, since I'd rather wait the day or so for the repairs to be done than risk hearing that damn dial up/connection sound and the slow moving browsers. Especially after tweaking IE and Firefox to run on a fast connection.

Got a 56k modem? In the UK you can use Freeola's emergency internet service I think.

Best way to get free internet- the only way I know of is to get on with a wi-fi connection to a network that has no WEP/WPA encryption.

Celticfc- how do I secure my connection or hide myself from the online public. I notice your little icon on your post can tell me who I am, what OS I am using and who I connect with. So can I protect myself?

TO celticfc-Appreciate the information you shared.
To the guy asking about the wi-fi and xbox live- yeah you will be able to play on xbox live. No problem. Wi-Fi g/b can get up to 54mb/s even though real world results is more like 3 or 4mb/s connection that is still faster than dial up and the slowest dsl

Basically involves getting a router to share your internet connection wirelessly (they also have LAN sockets as well). I'd be surprised if you couldn't find one for less than $60.

Also read some where that you can actually get wi-fi signals up to a mile away from your home and it is a book somewhere that tells you to extend your wi-fi reception capabilities using every day ojects but I can seem to find it anywhere online.

Sounds like it might be BS. WiFi signals are never that strong ordinarily.
