Can anyone help me with this issue. I have several DVDs with the European region code and in PAL format. Instead of buying a multi-region DVD player I would like to rip them and burn them without region or region 1 and NTSC format. What software do I need to do that?
Theres a few programs out there that will make a DVD region free. DVD Decrypter or AnyDVD is a few of them. If you want to change a PAL DVD to NTSC then you will have to use a conversion program for that. Nero Vision Express can convert Pal 2 NTSC.
Well, perhaps somebody can explain how region codes relate to PAL/NTSC. Let's say I have a German DVD region code 2 (?) in PAL. Ripping it with Decrypter removes the region code. Can I play it now on an American DVD player and TV or do I still need to convert it?
It depends on if your American TV (More then likly NTSC) is compatible with a PAL DVD. Mose newer TVS and DVD players are but alot arnt. So you need to find out if your TV/DVD player are compatible to PAL format. If they cant play PAL then you will have to convert. I would assume regon codes are in place to stop people from being able to buy/play or import other region DVD's to other places where they where not intended to be sold at.
I am succesfully converting PAL original DVDs to NTSC with NERO Vision. The only problam is that the interactive menu page is not interactive (Can not pick extras, etc.) It will play though on its own . Any suggestion what could be done to make the menu interactive? Thanks!
