WHile I sti at my computer doing work I often like to have a movie playing on a tv next me. Since the screen on my portable dvd player looks awful, I run the video out to a little 5 inch tv that I acquired a long time ago (video looks pretty good for an old tv). Anyways, is there a way that I can hook up the little tv to my computer for the sake of just watching the xvids right from the hard drive? I have a radeon 9600 with the tv out, but I don't know if there's a way to keep my monitor working normally and have the tv be like a mini side display that I could just open the video window in. The other good thing about this would be that since I usualyl use headphones I could still hear sounds on the computer as well as from the movie (like if I'm playing a game).

i don't know of a way of doing what you want but i did some experiments and you can tell it to do a horizontal stretch and it makes the TV an expansion of your desktop if you drag your media player screen into that you should have 2 displays

use video out on the video card and set it as your primary display and you will be able to pump out video to the tv
