Ok. This is gonna sound stupid to "advanced users" but ive just gotten really confused! Is an mp4. file and example of and AVI? And what are ISO and VOB files? Are these the ones that you get with DVD Shrink when you rip with it?
I tried, i tried, but it was so boring and i couldnt unerstand :'( Sorry (i dont suppose you could just tell me ?) Lol
VOB: the files in a DVD that contain the movie, in the form of MPEG-2 video, AC3 or DTS audio and subtitles. Usually these cannot be played on a standalone DVD player without .ifo and .bup files, to create these, the .vob files need to be authored. ISO: an image (not picture) file, usually of a DVD, that contains all the data the disc contained, only it is packaged into one .iso file. An essential part of PS2 game backing up, and an essential part of video game piracy over the internet iso files need to be burnt to disc or mounted in a virtual drive. If mounted in a virtual drive, your computer will treat it as a physical disc that is inserted into a physical drive. I had intended to cut down the glossary definitions, but i didn't do a very good job of it, it's almost as long as it is in the glossary. Sorry.
An MPEG4 file is just a compressed AVI file. It usses a codec that compresses the video/audio. This meaning if you want to play the MPEG4 file back you have to have the MPEG4 codec. That is why most DVD players can not play MPEG4 files because it dosent have an MPEG4 codec on it to procsses the file.
I see! Which is why you have to convert it back to dvd (which format is that?) using something like nerovision. Thanks
billybob , stop asking stupidly obvious questions ... ie; ones that are given in the gloassary (you are going to have to read at some point). And also take this h**p://www.danasoft.com/sig/.jpg out of your sig plz !! Don't go getting suspended again , it might be permanent.
Also tailschao your signature is looking very much on the fat side there .. your sig being half my screen a minute ago (sort it out a bit could ya please) Moved to newbies forum as it was not for advanced users section
