choppy play back and speed issue

    ok i recentle bought a lite on dvd drive for my pc pluged it in it playes dvds and all but when i try to play anything from it videos dvds every thing is realy slow. i hade the same issue with my old cd drive but i thought getting a dvd drive will fix this but i still have the same problems. any way to fix this?

    celeron D 2.53 GHz 1.24 GB RAM

    maybe intel celeron isnt exactly the best rocessor maybe that has something to do with it?
