I want to make an external hard drive, do I only need the HD and case or do the cases not usually come with the relevent cables? Thanks for and help
You can get the cases to hold the drives, they usually have the cables for power and data inside ready to connect. Make sure you get the correct type (IDE or SATA)and size(3 1/2inch). If you can use either interface, then make sure you get Firewire as well as USB 2.0, as the data transfer is faster on Firewire even though the raw data speed is slower.
