One of those weird problems

This certain computer with Windows XP got some weird spyware/virus. It pops up a net-message(same kind you get while using NET SEND -command), with a sender named SYSTEM or SECURITY or some other fake "address". The message itself is an advertisment for sites like "www.updateregistry.com" and "www.fixwin32.com. Both senders and messages vary.

The problem is that Adaware or AntiVir didn't find the possible spyware/virus. When you try to run diagnostics with Spybot, the computer crashes at certain point. Hard drives, disk drives, etc. shuts down and only the fans stay on. For some other reason you can't reboot properly right after this happens: only the fans restart...

Now, it seems to me like there's some problems on the BIOS, along with the possible spyware on the hard drive. Does anyone recognizes the spyware/virus, or has any idea why the computer won't restart right after the crash?

Have to ask!!!, but have you tried starting in Safe Mode and running Spybot from there?
